Mexico Fishing Lodge
Really struggling with whether I should write a glowing report on the lodge because I’m worried I won’t be able to book my next trip if the word gets out… Most of the guests were returning for the second, third or fourth time. Two of the guests booked trips for 2026 AND 2027 before they left!
I have tried for years to catch a marlin without success. I booked this trip to try to remedy that situation, and on our first day offshore my wife and I caught four sailfish!
The next day we fished inshore and caught roosterfish and Jack Crevalle. On day three I had four marlin hits, but couldn’t seal the deal… On day four we caught two sailfish and had a “grande’ marlin busted off.
With no prompting from me, they suggested we stay two more days…
On day five we got skunked, but that’s why it’s called fishing. Day six brought us another couple of sailfish, and on day seven we caught four more sailfish. As we were headed back in on the last day of our trip, one final marlin attacked, but for the second time this trip he broke off the line at the swivel. We are talking a gigantic marlin in the 400 to 500 pound category!
I still have not landed a marlin, but I can now say I have battled multiple marlin, and have completed 1/2 an hour of what would likely have been a two or three hour battle if the beast had not gotten loose! Hooking eight marlin, and landing 11 sailfish in a week is a pretty impressive statistic!
The outfitter and his staff at the lodge were incredible! The food was next level and our guide was exceptional with great equipment and got into fish almost every day. How physically demanding the trip is totally dependent on what is biting on any given day. You should be prepared to catch the biggest fish of your life and you may do that several times during your stay!
This trip exceeded every expectation my wife and I had and left us with memories we’ll be talking about for years!

What an amazing experience!
The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing. Our photo safari guide was truly exceptional and had us on animals almost constantly. We saw over 30 different species and had some incredible up close experiences. Africa is amazing!
