You have a limited number of places you can hunt mountain goats, and even fewer where you can hunt trophy mountain goats with great coats. So, even if you don’t care about getting a trophy class goat you are still faced with playing the lottery in the lower 48, or you’re paying a fairly substantial amount to go on a guided hunt in Canada or Alaska. The good thing about Canada and Alaska though is that they have over the counter mountain goat tags.
Over the Counter Mountain Goat Tags
If you are looking to draw a tag and do it yourself, more power to you. But an easier route is to hunt where they have over-the-counter mountain goat tags, or to go the guided hunt route. Canada (we recommend British Columbia) and Alaska are the only place that has this option.
