Adventure travel includes zip-lining through Monteverde’s cloud forests, whitewater rafting the Pacuare River, or surfing at Playa Dominical. Explore Arenal Volcano’s hot springs or hike Corcovado National Park to spot jaguars and macaws, with year-round options peaking from December to April for dry 75-85°F weather. Wingshooting is restricted, with minimal opportunities for doves or pigeons on private lands, permitted November to March with special licenses. Fishing is world-class, with offshore catches of sailfish, marlin, and dorado off Quepos, or freshwater tarpon in the Río Colorado, best from January to May. Big game hunting is banned, but hunters can pursue alternatives like iguana or pursue big game in nearby countries.

What an amazing experience!
The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing. Our photo safari guide was truly exceptional and had us on animals almost constantly. We saw over 30 different species and had some incredible up close experiences. Africa is amazing!
