Caribou Hunting British Columbia
A caribou hunt in British Columbia, Canada is typically a combo.
Why you should consider caribou hunting British Columbia:

- Mountain caribou carry more mass in their antlers and are thicker than the caribou of the far northern Yukon and Northwest Territory.
- Our hunters in BC can hunt early caribou still in velvet, or above timberline during the rut.
- Mountain goat, moose, stone sheep and grizzly can all be hunted in combination with mountain caribou in British Columbia.

We had a great trip! This was a do-it-yourself caribou hunt in the Brooks Range of Alaska. Unfortunately for us the migration quieted down just as we arrived in camp. The transporter did a fantastic job. They met us at the airport, took pretty much complete care of us, got us into and out of the field safely, provided us a place to process our game, helped us box antlers and meat, drove us back and forth to the hotel and delivered us to the airport on the day of our departure.
Thanks Outdoors International for booking us with these guys! The only thing that would have made it better was if the migration had been in full swing – but that’s why it’s called hunting now isn’t it?
Working with Russ Meyer from Outdoors International was fantastic. A caribou hunt was my fiancé’s dream hunt and we booked it over a year and a half in advance. Communication with the outfitter was very good and we had a lot of questions, all of which were answered promptly by either email, phone call or text.
The Alaska caribou hunting trip was amazing!! The whole process was very smooth!! The transporter was wonderful, timely and very professional!! Working with Russ at Outdoors International was a great experience. If someone is looking for an amazing DIY adventure in the tundra I couldn’t recommend this crew more!
This DIY caribou hunt was all we could hope for. Day 1 was spent setting up camp and glassing. Day 2 was spent glassing…could see I would guess a mile in all directions. Saw a few caribou…nothing close. Day 3 more hiking…glassing saw a few more caribou. Day 4 saw at least 50 caribou…they can really cover ground. Thank you Outdoors International for setting up a great trip that made a lifetime of memories!
We had a great caribou hunt, and saw two good bulls and we both tried a shot. Jim sealed the deal while my bull disappeared into the valley. We’ll be booking again with Outdoors International, and have already requested some info on a brown bear hunt. Because I trust Russ Meyer will recommend only good hunts to his clients.
