La Pampa, Argentina
La Pampa is a province in central Argentina, within the vast Pampas grasslands. Estancias (ranches) dot the fertile plains around the laid-back provincial capital, Santa Rosa. In the southwest, the scrubland of Lihué Calel National Park is home to lizards, pumas and guanacos. Just south of Santa Rosa, Parque Luro reserve is known for its forest of prickly caldén trees sheltering red deer and wild boars.
