Caribou, with their majestic antlers and graceful presence, roam the vast wilderness of North America. They are an integral part of the region’s ecosystem, and hunting them is not just a sport but also a means of wildlife management.
Caribou are found in Alaska, Canada, and some parts of the northern United States. Many subspecies of caribou are recognized, including Barren-Ground, Quebec-Labrador, Mountain Caribou and Woodland, but the differences between lie mostly in habitat and behavior, not genetics.
