HUNT: Unguided Moose Hunt in Alaska

I have wanted to hunt moose in the Yukon for many years, and I was not disappointed! We had a great experience with Outdoors International from the first phone call with Russ to the phone call after we returned home to talk about how the hunt went. We saw dozens of trophy quality moose, and we were able to tag out on great bulls even though we are rookie moose hunters! I called my bull to 21 yards! The outfitter was very helpful in preparing us for the hunt which made our hunt a very memorable experience, and I would definitely recommend this hunt to anyone who is looking for an experience of a lifetime!
The communication and support that we received from the day we booked our hunt to the day we arrived in Bethel, AK was phenomenal!
Ms. Sharon was very helpful with all of our questions and preparations, and she made sure that we had all the information we needed to have a great trip and a successful hunt. Communication in Bethel and in the field was a little more difficult. I know that the outfitter had several groups in the field, but we feel we should be able to ask questions and get answers in a more timely manner than we experienced. We didn’t experience any significant issues while we were in the field, so the communication challenges were more of an inconvenience than a real problem.
Some of the food that was provided by the outfitter was past the expiration date on the boxes. This was not a significant issue, but when you are paying for food, you don’t want expired food.
The area where we hunted had clearly been hunted recently, and we found three fresh moose carcasses within a short distance of the lake we were based on. It’s public land so there isn’t much that the outfitter can do about this, but a little more awareness of the actual hunting pressure would be helpful. We had to push further from camp than we hope to fill our three tags.
In general, the support we received was great, and the experience was wonderful. I would definitely work with this outfitter again in the future.

What an amazing experience!
The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing. Our photo safari guide was truly exceptional and had us on animals almost constantly. We saw over 30 different species and had some incredible up close experiences. Africa is amazing!Scott Navares
