We have lots of choices when it comes to Texas exotic hunts. With relationships with ranches all over Texas, we can tailor a hunt to fit what you are looking for. Whether it’s a hunt for record book animals, or a budget hunt, we can help. Though our most popular exotic game animals in Texas are Axis deer, Blackbuck, Fallow deer, Sika and Aoudad, we also offer hunts for animals from Addax to Zebra.
The Lone Star State is where it’s at for hunting exotics.
Texas holds higher populations of some exotic species than their native countries do!
- Addax Antelope
-
Axis Deer – Axis deer are common in Texas, and make for an amazing hunt. We have trophy buck hunts and even non-trophy and doe hunts. Their meat is arguably the best on the planet.
- American Bison
- Aoudad Sheep
- Blackbuck
- Bongo Antelope
- Catalina Goat
- Common Lechwe
- Corsican Sheep
- Dama Gazelle – Dama gazelle are among the larger gazelle species with males weighing from 150-200 pounds. They are primarily a plains antelope so you will typically find them in open grasslands. Any ram with horns over 14” is exceptional. They have been eliminated from much of their native habitat, but small populations are holding on in Chad, Mali, and Niger. In Texas their herds are growing and are another conservation success story through careful breeding and selective hunting of only trophy males.
- Dybowski Sika Deer – Dybowski, also known as Manchurian Sika are the largest of the 14 Sika species.
- Eland Antelope
- Fallow Deer
- Four Horned Sheep
- Gemsbok
- Hawaiian Black Sheep
- Kudu
- Markhor
- Mouflon Sheep
- Nilgai Antelope
- Nubian Ibex
- Pere David Deer – Père David deer are known only in captivity, having been extinct in the wild for about two thousand years. Captives were kept at the Imperial Hunting Park near Beijing, China, where they were first seen by Père David in 1865. The last of these deer were slaughtered during the Boxer Rebellion; however, a few had previously been shipped to Europe, and they are the source of today’s world population. Texas is fortunate to have a large, huntable population of them.
- Red Stag
- Red Sheep
- Sable
- Sika Deer
- Scimitar Oryx – Scimitar Horned Oryx have been declared extinct in the wild in their native habitat of the Sahara Desert. Conservation efforts have brought them back and now they are commonly pursued on Texas exotic hunts. With a population of approximately 12,000 scimitar oryx, Texas has as large a number of animals that has ever existed in Africa. Currently the only populations left in Africa are on a wildlife sanctuary in Senegal. A cousin to gemsbok, both bulls and cows have horns with cows often having longer horns and bulls having heavier horns.
- Texas Dall Sheep
- Waterbuck
- Water Buffalo
- Wildebeest
- Yak
- Zebra
