I would consider this trip a success in every single way besides harvesting an animal. It was not for lack of opportunity however.
To be successful on an Idaho wolf hunt…or a wolf hunt anywhere is daunting task, but our clients have reasonable success rates every year. Idaho wolf hunting with great success on Idaho wolves. Hunt wolves in the winter range by spot and stalk, predator calling and howling.
Three or four elk hunting seasons ago, I guided Dave Brucken and Dr. Rance Gamblin on an Idaho archery elk hunt. Dave works for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and wrote a story about our little adventure that was later published in their Bugle Magazine.
