FIRST HUNT FOUNDATION RECEIVES GRANT FROM CCI/SPEER
Jeanette LaVance of CCI/SPEER in Lewiston presents First Hunt Foundation President,
Rick Brazell with one of five new Savage rifles
First Hunt Foundation headquartered in Kamiah, Idaho just received a grant of five Savage 6.5 Creedmore rifles and scopes from CCI/SPEER. Each rifle is valued over $650 making the total grant over $3,250. The rifles will be used on the very first “First Hunt on the Front” which is a special youth hunt hosted on the Boone and Crockett Ranch in Montana.
The Boone and Crockett Club approached First Hunt Foundation wanting to give five youth the opportunity for their very first deer hunt. The B&C Ranch has a large lodge where the youth and their families can stay in comfort while hunting on the ranch and other partner ranches. First Hunt Foundation will provide the rifles, ammo, food and mentors to insure those lucky youth have a great first hunting experience.
ACE Hardware in Kamiah is working with the Foundation to provide bore sighting, gun slings and ammo to complete having the rifles ready for the hunt. Ashley Dyche, store manager of ACE says, “We are excited anytime we can be a part in getting more youth out hunting for their first time.” Brazell says this year all the youth will be from Montana due to the short turnaround, but as this hunt will be an annual event, we hope to provide scholarships so out of state youth can bring their families there at no cost to them for their travel. “First Hunt Foundation is excited to partner with the Boone and Crockett Club to help promote hunting and conservation.” Brazell says.
