Mouflon

The mouflon (Ovis orientalis orientalis) is a subspecies group of the wild sheep (Ovis orientalis). Mouflon sheep are thought to be the common ancestor of all breeds of modern domestic sheep. European Mouflon sheep were first introduced into Spain from the island of Corsica at the end of the 19th century. 

Recognized subspecies include: Armenian mouflon (found in Iran, Armenia, and Azerbaijan); Corsican; Cyprian; Esfahan  (Zagros Mountains in Iran); Konya; and Laristan mouflon (southern Iran). You’ll realize just how wild they are when you hunt them. They are beautiful with heart shaped horns, and a white saddle patch on their back.
