Mexico Desert Bighorn Sheep Hunt
We had a great experience. I ended up taking 3 friends with me to share the trip with. The food and hospitality at the ranch house from Patty was exceptional and beyond all expectations. We would drive out every morning at 5:30am and glass the hills for sheep until we spotted something to go after. Desert sheep in this country are very hard to spot but our guide Jorge and assistant guides Gaston and Hector are amazing at picking these animals out in their camouflage backdrop.
We saw multiple nice rams every day of the hunt. On day 6 we found one that we wanted to go after. After a slow 2 mile stalk, we were one drainage way from where the ram should be. We sent a couple of the guys back to grab our packs. When they were almost back to Jorge and I, the ram and two ewes stepped out on the ridge in front of us, 150 yards away. One perfectly placed shot put the ram down.
Although my buddies didn’t get to see the shot because they were gathering our packs, it just adds to the story. After a quick photo session the ram was caped for a life size mount, meat was quartered and packs were loaded for the hike out. We enjoyed another wonderful meal and celebrated that night at the ranch house.

What an amazing experience!
The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing.
