While it might not rank as high as other states in the total number of Boone and Crockett caliber bucks, there are tons of hunting opportunities. Montana uses a preference point system for licensing. The big game combo tag may be used for most of our Montana mule deer hunting trips, but having preference points makes it easier to acquire a license.
