I did a vessel-based mountain goat hunt out of Valdez, Alaska. They did a very nice job with organization and have an excellent staff that is very knowledgeable and work very hard for you.

To be able to handle this archery mountain goat hunt, gun or bow, a person needs to be in excellent physical condition, and have the right gear. This is SUPER important because once a good goat is spotted, you will be starting out at sea level.

The Chugach Mountain Range in Alaska, which I have hunted twice, is steeper and more rugged than anything I have experienced in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, or Colorado. Goat hunts may be the most difficult you can do but also may be the most rewarding.

What an amazing experience!
