Greenland, the largest island on the planet, is also the least densely populated country in the world. Although it is a part of the Danish Commonwealth, Greenland operates with a high degree of self-governance, with Denmark retaining control over certain areas like military and foreign policy. The island boasts a top-notch wildlife management system that supports thriving populations of native species, making Greenland caribou hunting a top notch experience.

In addition to muskox, hunters are drawn to Greenland caribou hunting.

Forget the snowmobiles, dogsleds, and frigid Arctic temperatures. Leave behind the iced-up gear and heavy clothing that make every movement a challenge, not to mention the freeze-dried food and jerky.

When it comes to hunting in Greenland during the summer, you’re in for a completely different experience. This season provides a warm and enjoyable environment, paired with some of the most breathtaking landscapes you’ll ever see. Along with the thrilling hunt, you can take advantage of additional opportunities like exploring Iceland or Greenland, fishing for Arctic char, and hunting muskox and small game.

Depending on the time of year, hunting caribou or reindeer can vary in physical demands.

In August, hunters should prepare for a more strenuous adventure, as reaching prime caribou territory typically involves climbing at least 1,000 vertical feet and covering several miles. Good physical fitness is essential for this challenge. By September and October, the hunt becomes less demanding, as caribou and reindeer are usually found closer to the coast, requiring less strenuous effort to track and hunt them.

My hunt was absolutely top notch.

The outfitter is a fantastic man and incredibly hard working and knowledgeable, there is no doubt he will do everything within his power to make peoples hunts successful and enjoyable. I plan to do it again with him next year for sure.

Our hunt was excellent.

We saw bucks every day along with all other sorts of wildlife. Mountain goats, bears, and foxes were common sights. Fishing and crabbing was special bonus. The food was excellent, the crew was amazing. Outdoors International did a great job of finding exactly what we were looking for.

What an amazing experience!

The hunting lodge was out of this world!, Rooms, food and the scenery were all A+. Our guide was exceptional and had us on Shiras moose all five days. We saw over 30 total with at least 10 bulls. They had a plan for everything including taxidermy and game processing.
