- Trophy Rainbow trout and Dolly Varden fishing takes place all season, which is from June through early October.
- There are two Sockeye salmon runs (Reds): June 11 to June 30; and July 25 through August 10.
- Silver Salmon (Coho) run from August 20 to October 15.
- King Salmon fishing on the Kasilof River is lights out in July.
Kenai Wildlife Refuge Fishing Trips
Flowing downstream from the world famous Russian River, the Kenai River winds its way through a maze of gravel bars, back channels and is interlaced with islands. As it flows through the Kenai Wildlife Refuge fishing is amazing and the scenery is spectacular.
You’ll soon realize why this beautiful section of the Upper Kenai is a favorite fishing hole of the locals from Coopers Landing, Alaska.
You can expect to have good fishing for salmon, trout and Dolly Varden. Book in advance, as there are only a limited number of guides that get to fish the most beautiful section of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.

Kenai River Canyon Fishing Trips
This spectacular fishing trip ventures deeper into the wildlife refuge of the Kenai River Canyon.
This area is home to abundant wildlife like moose, bear, bald eagles, and countless bird species. If you time it right, you can have great fishing for salmon, trout and Dolly Varden.
The narrowest section of the Kenai River Canyon involves Class II+ whitewater surrounded by towering rocky cliffs and ends as the river opens up into the glacier carved Skilak Lake.

Upper Kenai River Fishing Trips
This is the perfect opportunity for everyone to fish the Kenai River. Beginners to advanced will enjoy this unique experience – fishing one of Alaska’s fabled waters.
We can always target rainbow trout and Dolly Varden and when the red and silver salmon are present, we will try for those.
