Strobel Lake Fishing in Argentina
Strobel Lake fishing in Argentina is incredible!
The southern end of the famous Patagonian region in Argentina is a remote but luxurious fly fishing lodge that boasts the largest rainbow trout in the world. The difference in Strobel Lake fishing, and fly fishing almost any other destination for large trout is the fact that you WILL catch some of the biggest trout of your life. What we witnessed is rainbow trout in the lake seem to average 10 pounds! We can almost guarantee you a 15-pound fish with chances at 20-pounders. These fish have grown to sizes unheard of with the amount of food available to them in the lake.
One of the most remote, wild and best fishing destinations in the world!
- Absolutely MONSTROUS rainbow trout! It is not uncommon to land multiple double digit rainbow trout a day with chances at fish in the 20’s.
- With excellent food and comfortable accommodations, this is a trip of a lifetime!
- The fishing season in Argentina is October through May.
- Peak times are November through mid-January.
- All the guides and camp staff are the best of the best and take care of you every step of the way.
Lake Athabasca is in our opinion the BEST Lake Trout fishery in the world! Oh, and did we mention we landed 3 pike of 20 lbs while we were there as well?!
A trip to Arkansas is a great affordable destination to bring a son or daughter who is a beginner at fly-fishing or for the advanced angler looking to target a truly once in a lifetime Brown trout. The White River is arguably the best brown trout fishery in the US with fish averaging 18-22” and many fish caught each year over 10 pounds!
I had an incredible time fishing in Arkansas! Clint our guide was excellent and seemed to always know what fly to tie on and where to fish. I would recommend this trip to a beginner or experienced fly angler. I caught my biggest brown trout on this trip!
The southern end of the Patagonia region close to El Calafate is one of the most unforgiving and inhospitable areas I’ve ever visited in my fishing career. Dry, windy, barren and all around tough conditions make it a much uninhabited area with the exception of sheep ranches and GIANT rainbow trout!
My fishing partner Patrick Walsh, Editor and Chief of Outdoor Canada Magazine and I had what can only be described as an epic week landing somewhere between 500 and 600 lake trout ranging between 8 and 30 lbs with our fly rods and setting 5 Line Class World Records in the process.
