TRIP TAKEN: Black Bear Baited Hunt in Alberta, Canada

This baited black bear hunt was tremendous. My son Daniel was the hunter and I was the observer. He got a bear, not the biggest bear in the woods, but a nice one. Didn’t see a thing on the bait the 1st two days, shot his bear on day three, saw nothing days four and five. Then he shot another one on day six, knocked it down, but it got up and took off. We never found it. Hey, we are happy to come home with some bear meat and are having a nice rug made.
Everyone in camp was fantastic. Susan cooked a huge breakfast every day and a huge dinner every night. Our guides worked extremely hard baiting sites every day. Fun, happy folks. We really enjoyed getting to know everyone. There were three other hunters there, one got two bears, the others got one bear each.
Words cannot properly describe how they simply made us all part of their family. In Hawaii we call it Ohana. We really felt welcome every day. Also, one day we went fishing and Daniel caught a 3 pound Northern Pike from a canoe.
We really appreciate OI for coordinating this trip for us. It was great working with Kyle setting up this fantastic hunt.

What an amazing experience!
The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing.
