Here at Outdoors International it is not only our duty as Consultants to help our clients find the best trips around the world, but also help them with them solve problems with International travel before they happen. Customs Declaration Form 4457 will provide you with proof for the customs agent that you bought your items in the States so that you do not have to pay duty or tax on them. That is why we suggest filling out Form 4457.
There is a new focus on an old law that US travelers, and especially hunters need to be aware of.
We all take expensive items with us on our trips (camera, guns, binos, computers, etc) but when you are coming back into the States a customs officer can ask you where you bought them and if you can’t prove that you bought them from the States before you left you may get hit with a large duty to re-enter your items into the country.
The way to easily avoid this issue before it happens is to fill out form 4457.
This will provide you with proof for the customs agent that you bought your items in the States. Form 4457 can be easily filled out and taken to any U.S. Customs and Border Protection office. You must physically take your items (make sure they have some form or identifying number or serial number) to the office and the agent will inspect them. He will stamp your form 4457 and all is good. It usually takes less than five minutes. You can have more than one form 4457. Every International airport has an office located within or close by and sometimes you have to make an appointment.
I didn't think an experience like this was possible.
This trip, was, for me at least not just a trip, for me it was a real adventure, a real experience. I love the wilderness and this trip afforded me the opportunity to connect with the Alaskan wilderness in ways very few people do. It was an experience I will never forgot in a place I can’t wait to get back to.

What an amazing experience!
The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing. Our photo safari guide was truly exceptional and had us on animals almost constantly. We saw over 30 different species and had some incredible up close experiences. Africa is amazing!
