Located on the banks of the lower Skeena, Skeena River Lodge is one of BC’s finest salmon and steelhead lodges. In addition to world famous Skeena River steelhead fishing, you’ll enjoy great meals and accommodations. However, they’re all about the fishing, not fancy, so don’t expect champagne & roast duck. But you can count on a nice steak or lasagna.
Because they aren’t fancy, they don’t charge fancy prices. They’re focussed on the fishing, and that is why they’re a real fly fishing lodge.
The steelhead and salmon fishery is special and unique to this part of the world.
At Skeena River Lodge guests can fish multiple sections of the Skeena, the Kalum, Copper and Kitimat Rivers. Your fishing guides are experts with Spey and single handed fly fishing for steelhead and all five species of pacific salmon. The Skeena River Lodge experience not only offers an unequalled fly fishing adventure in a breathtaking environment.
ACCOMMODATIONS
This Skeena River steelhead and salmon outfitter offers accommodations at two separate sites.
Skeena River Lodge
The new Skeena River Lodge facility is arguably the best built and most luxurious of all the BC steelhead fishing lodges. The main lodge overlooks their casting pond and offers a wide range of well-appointed accommodations and cabins across their significant property. All guests have single rooms with private baths. Meals are prepared by a highly skilled chef and are of the highest level, served in the main dining area.
The main lodge is situated in close proximity to the Skeena, Kitimat, Copper (Zymoetz) and Kalum (Kitsumkalum) rivers. The Lodge is sitting on seven acres of private land, surrounded with Crown land! They are only a 20 minute drive from the Terrace Airport and the city of Terrace. This location provides accommodation for six to eight anglers in a handcrafted post and beam cabin.
The rustic cabin provides all the basics. Anglers will enjoy hot showers, comfortable single beds along with simple, wholesome home-cooked meals.
Nass Base Camp
The remote Nass Base Camp is located on the banks of the beautiful Meziaden lake near the Alaska border. Camp is a very nice 1,700 square foot log home with a guide cabin on the side. It’s is a no-nonsense steelhead fishing program. They fish the Bell Irving River, as well as some other secret rivers what will guarantee you a real Northern BC steelhead fishing adventure!
- They run this camp only in September and October.
- It has four single occupancy bedrooms, as well as a loft.
- Guests share one bathroom.
- In addition to the main cabin are two very simple, single occupancy cabins, each with their own bath. These cabins can be reserved with an up charge.
- The fishing lodge has a full time cook, and hearty meals will be served in the main dining room.
While simple, and unpolished, this is a great little camp with super staff that serious anglers greatly enjoy. Because a quality angling experience is their top priority, they only allow four anglers per week in camp. This two angler per guide ratio guarantees you top notch service.

I asked if he were given one river to guide steelhead on for the rest of his life what it would be and he answered without hesitation “The Skeena”. I would have to agree.
