GET MORE INFO ABOUT THIS HUNT

Montana black bear hunting is some of the best in the lower 48, particularly in regions like the Yaak Valley, known for its high bear population. Hunters can pursue bears in both spring and fall seasons, using fair-chase, spot-and-stalk methods.

Spring Montana Black Bear Hunting Season

Spring black bear hunts are among the most popular offered by this hunting lodge. As bears emerge from their dens, they head to lower elevations in search of fresh grasses and clover, their primary food sources in early spring. These hunts involve traditional spot-and-stalk methods, often focusing on logging roads, open meadows, and logged areas where bears are actively feeding. Hunters can expect to cover significant ground, making these hunts perfect for those who enjoy an active pursuit in breathtaking mountain landscapes.

Fall Montana Black Bear Hunting Season

Fall Montana bear hunts provide a different but equally rewarding challenge. During this season, bears are concentrated in high basins and berry patches, where they feed heavily in preparation for winter hibernation. The spot-and-stalk approach is again employed, with hunters focusing on areas abundant with berries. Occasionally, bears on the move between feeding grounds can be intercepted, offering exciting opportunities for a successful hunt.

My hunt was absolutely top notch.

The outfitter is a fantastic man and incredibly hard working and knowledgeable, there is no doubt he will do everything within his power to make peoples hunts successful and enjoyable. I plan to do it again with him next year for sure.

Our hunt was excellent.

We saw bucks every day along with all other sorts of wildlife. Mountain goats, bears, and foxes were common sights. Fishing and crabbing was special bonus. The food was excellent, the crew was amazing. Outdoors International did a great job of finding exactly what we were looking for.

What an amazing experience!

The hunting lodge was out of this world!, Rooms, food and the scenery were all A+. Our guide was exceptional and had us on Shiras moose all five days. We saw over 30 total with at least 10 bulls. They had a plan for everything including taxidermy and game processing.
