Caribou Drop Hunt

Our caribou hunting transporter out of Fairbanks was great! He and his team worked their butts off for us in a tough situation. We had 2.5 days waiting to get into the field and an extra day in the field. That happens, its Alaska, BUT now that I have done it, I feel we were lucky. Flying 192 miles north over two mountain ranges is tough. Also, the flight is so far that you have to take 180’s or 185’s so you need 600-700 ft. runway, just doesn’t seen sustainable.
We saw very few caribou but had a great trip. At the end of the day, great experience, but I wouldn’t go back to that area. I believe that we were the lucky ones to get in and out, purely due to the weather. I would use this transporter somewhere else for sure.

What an amazing experience!
The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing. Our photo safari guide was truly exceptional and had us on animals almost constantly. We saw over 30 different species and had some incredible up close experiences. Africa is amazing!
