Experience the thrill of calling in a strutting tom to the thunderous gobble that echoes through the spring woods! Outdoors International is your expert consulting service, dedicated to connecting hunters with premier, vetted outfitters, lodges, and guides specializing in exceptional Wild Turkey hunting across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Whether you're seeking your first gobbler, aiming to complete a prestigious Wild Turkey Slam (Grand, Royal, or World), or simply want a high-quality guided hunt for a specific subspecies, we help you plan your perfect turkey adventure at no extra cost compared to booking direct.

Wild Turkey hunting is a cherished North American tradition, celebrated for the interactive nature of calling, the strategic use of decoys, and the heart-pounding excitement of a close encounter. Our experienced consultants understand the nuances of hunting the different subspecies, the prime seasons (especially spring gobbler seasons), diverse hunting methods, and the best regions and outfitters to ensure a memorable and successful hunt. We can assist you in planning hunts for individual subspecies or help strategize the pursuit of your coveted Slam.

  • Target North America's Wild Turkey Subspecies: We connect hunters with specialized outfitters for all recognized subspecies:

    • Eastern Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo silvestris): The most widespread subspecies, found throughout the eastern half of the U.S. and parts of Canada. Known for their wariness and strong gobbles.
    • Rio Grande Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo intermedia): Primarily inhabits the prairie and brush country of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and has been introduced to other western states.
    • Merriam's Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo merriami): Typically found in the mountainous regions of the western U.S., known for their distinct white-tipped tail feathers and often nomadic behavior.
    • Osceola Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo osceola): Found only on the Florida peninsula, this subspecies is a key component of the Grand Slam and known for being particularly challenging.
    • Gould's Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo mexicana): The largest subspecies, primarily found in the mountainous regions of northern Mexico, with limited populations and highly coveted draw tags in Arizona and New Mexico.
    • (Note: The Ocellated Turkey of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula is a distinct species, offering another unique tropical turkey hunting experience that can also be arranged.)
  • Premier Wild Turkey Hunting Destinations: Our network spans the continent's best turkey hunting regions:

    • United States: Prolific hunting in states across the Midwest (e.g., Missouri, Iowa, Kansas), Southeast (e.g., Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee), Northeast (e.g., Pennsylvania, New York), Texas (Rio Grandes), Florida (Osceolas), and the Western states (Merriam's in South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana).
    • Canada: Opportunities for Eastern turkeys in provinces like Ontario and Quebec, and Merriam's in some western areas.
    • Mexico: The primary destination for guided Gould's turkey hunts, particularly in states like Sonora and Chihuahua.
  • The Wild Turkey Hunting Experience:

    • Spring Gobbler Seasons: The most popular time to hunt, focusing on calling in responsive, breeding-age toms.
    • Fall Seasons: Offered in many states, allowing for either-sex hunts or targeting birds of the year.
    • Hunting Methods: Utilizing various calling techniques (box calls, slate calls, diaphragm calls), decoys (hens, jakes, strutters), hunting from ground blinds or utilizing natural cover, and sometimes spot-and-stalk tactics in more open country.
    • Pursuing a Slam: Outdoors International can assist dedicated turkey hunters in planning hunts across multiple states or countries to achieve their Grand Slam (Eastern, Rio Grande, Merriam's, Osceola), Royal Slam (Grand Slam + Gould's), or even the World Slam (Royal Slam + Ocellated).

My hunt was absolutely top notch.

The outfitter is a fantastic man and incredibly hard working and knowledgeable, there is no doubt he will do everything within his power to make peoples hunts successful and enjoyable. I plan to do it again with him next year for sure.

Wade Zuver

Our hunt was excellent.

We saw bucks every day along with all other sorts of wildlife. Mountain goats, bears, and foxes were common sights. Fishing and crabbing was special bonus. The food was excellent, the crew was amazing. Outdoors International did a great job of finding exactly what we were looking for.

Jesse Neveau

What an amazing experience!

The hunting lodge was out of this world!, Rooms, food and the scenery were all A+. Our guide was exceptional and had us on Shiras moose all five days. We saw over 30 total with at least 10 bulls. They had a plan for everything including taxidermy and game processing.
