Nyala hunting

Nyala Hunts

Nyala is native to the southern parts of Africa, primarily found in countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. They prefer dense bushy areas and thickets close to rivers or waterholes, where they can find shelter and food. Nyala are predominantly browsers, feeding on leaves, fruits, and flowers. They are also highly adaptive and can survive in a wide range of habitats, including savannas, forests, and scrublands.

Nyala is a highly cautious and wary animal, making them challenging to hunt. They have excellent hearing and sight, and their keen sense of smell allows them to detect predators from a long distance. Nyala are most active during the early morning and late afternoon, which makes it the best time for hunting them.

Hunting Techniques

Nyala hunting requires patience, skill, and precision. The most popular hunting technique for Nyala is stalking, where hunters move slowly and quietly towards the animal's location, using cover and terrain to remain hidden. Hunters need to be aware of the wind direction and noise level to avoid detection. It is also essential to be familiar with the terrain and Nyala's behavior to anticipate their movements.

Another popular technique is using a hunting blind, which is a stationary structure that allows hunters to observe the animal without being seen. The hunting blind needs to be set up in a location that offers a clear view of the animal's movement.

I didn't think an experience like this was possible.

This trip, was, for me at least not just a trip, for me it was a real adventure, a real experience. I love the wilderness and this trip afforded me the opportunity to connect with the Alaskan wilderness in ways very few people do. It was an experience I will never forgot in a place I can’t wait to get back to.

The outfitter handled everything perfectly.

We were thankful that Outdoors International hooked us up with a great outfitter because they were able to find us an acceptable alternate on short notice. Overall the two year process to get this float in was seamless and worry free. Just like it should be.

Thank you, Stan Masneri

What an amazing experience!

The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing. Our photo safari guide was truly exceptional and had us on animals almost constantly. We saw over 30 different species and had some incredible up close experiences. Africa is amazing!
