What could possibly be better than a day trip fishing for ling cod, rockfish, halibut, salmon, or running crab and shrimp pots, watching whales and bears? The answer is simple, a multi-day trip! Cruise and fish the open ocean, channels, and bays. Every trip is unique and tailored to your group's interests—salt or freshwater fishing, crabbing, shrimping, hiking, kayaking, whale watching, bear viewing.
After a long day of chasing trophy fish, kick back on the deck and watch the sunset over the water of a pristine bay. These trips are great for families and friends alike! The 67’ M/V Desperado can comfortably take up to 6 passengers. All meals are provided and cooked by your crew. We pride ourselves on serving tasty food. There is nothing like a hot meal after a day on the water! Crab and Shrimp cook out on the beach with a bon fire is always a nice option.
The boat is a 67-foot custom raised pilot house trawler, is propelled by a 370 Horse John Deere diesel main engine. She has 2-25 KW generators for electricity. The 3 state rooms, crew room, Three washrooms and two showers, open back deck, and step down swim platform make this a great long range live aboard ocean fishing vessel. USCG approved safety, communication, and navigation equipment, 8 person emergency life raft and EPIRB.
Depending on the time of the season, these trips will target multiple species with early season King Salmon Combos in May through August and Silver Salmon start showing up in July through September! Rockfish are available any time of the season and lingcod season opens July 1st.
The operation is based out of Sitka, AK on the west side of Baranof Island, is part of the Tongass National Forest, the country's largest national forest. With a population of 8,500, Sitka is Alaska's fifth most populated city. As the sixth largest seafood port in the nation, Sitka is also a hub of maritime commerce.
If you want to fish hardcore for a few days and get fish in the freezer, then spend a day exploring Sitka's unique bays and natural hot springs or crabbing and shrimping followed by a fire on the beach and a fresh seafood dinner, there are numerous options.
They also offer cast and blast options in September-October for waterfowl hunting with a combo of chasing silver salmon in the rivers. If you're type of person who would choose crab and beer over a campfire instead of a fancy 5 Course meal, this Alaska Charter is for you!
