Kansas has great archery deer seasons.

What a great deer hunt!

My wife gave me the option of an elk hunt or Kansas whitetail this year, I chose to hunt Midwest whitetails in Kansas, and was really glad I did. I think I may have found my new annual whitetail hunt. What a place and what a great operation. Saw a bunch of wild turkeys too, maybe I'll come back for them this spring.

Packing out some Kansas gobblers

Kansas also has tons of wild turkeys, with great populations of both Eastern and Rio Grande turkeys. Unpressured birds and the beautiful landscape make Kansas turkey hunting one of the most exciting turkey hunts out there. Kansas should be on your list if you’re looking for a Rio for your slam.

Deer hunting in Kansas

Trophy Big Game Hunting

Kansas is loaded with hunting opportunities for whitetail deer, mule deer, and pronghorn antelope, with over 300,000 acres of public lands and more than 1 million acres of private land that is open to hunters during the hunting seasons. In addition, Kansas has approximately one-half million acres of professionally managed hunting areas providing private, fee-to-hunt access.

  • Whitetail Deer: It is no secret that Kansas produces some of the Midwest’s best Boone & Crockett qualifying whitetails. Kansas deer hunting is by draw only, but if you book two years in advance and get a preference point, you’re typically guaranteed to draw a whitetail tag.
  • Pronghorn Antelope: By the late 1800s, pronghorn antelope in Kansas were found only on the western border of the state due to unregulated hunting. In 1964 a pronghorn reintroduction program began in Barber, Comanche, Ellsworth, Saline, Gove, Chase, and Morton counties. The western Kansas reintroductions were successful in most of those areas, and limited hunting seasons have been established.

I didn't think an experience like this was possible.

This trip, was, for me at least not just a trip, for me it was a real adventure, a real experience. I love the wilderness and this trip afforded me the opportunity to connect with the Alaskan wilderness in ways very few people do. It was an experience I will never forgot in a place I can’t wait to get back to.

The outfitter handled everything perfectly.

We were thankful that Outdoors International hooked us up with a great outfitter because they were able to find us an acceptable alternate on short notice. Overall the two year process to get this float in was seamless and worry free. Just like it should be.

Thank you,
Stan Masneri

What an amazing experience!

The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing. Our photo safari guide was truly exceptional and had us on animals almost constantly. We saw over 30 different species and had some incredible up close experiences. Africa is amazing!
