Outdoor Activities in Missouri

Missouri offers endless opportunities for sportsmen to explore the great outdoors. Hunt trophy whitetail deer and wild turkey in the Ozarks or enjoy waterfowl hunting along the Mississippi Flyway. Anglers can fish for bass, catfish, and trout in pristine lakes like Table Rock and the Missouri River. Hikers and campers will love the rugged beauty of Mark Twain National Forest and Katy Trail. With its rich wildlife and scenic landscapes, Missouri is a top destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Big Game Hunting in Missouri

Missouri is a state that is filled with some outstanding hunting opportunities. Best known for whitetail deer and wild turkey hunting, there is plenty of other hunting to be found including upland birds, and waterfowl.

Deer Hunting in Missouri

Missouri is also the only State in the Midwest where hunters can rifle hunt during the peak of the rut.

No draw! Missouri tags are available over the counter. While not a famous as some of its neighboring states, Missouri deer hunting is still in the top ten states for trophy whitetails. In fact, Missouri ranks as the #5 State in the Nation according to the Pope and Young and Boone and Crockett Record Books. Missouri has over-the-counter tags and good archery and rifle deer hunting seasons, as well as a late muzzleloader hunt. You can hunt with a crossbow during the archery season.

If you’re after a big buck, and who isn’t – look at the northwestern part of the state. Shelby and Knox Counties are the Missouri’s best whitetail deer hunting areas. Northern Missouri is producing monstrous whitetail bucks due to an 8 point antler restriction rule implemented by the Missouri Department of Conservation in 2010. There are “undiscovered” farms in this state that are just about unhunted. Don’t overlook it!

Wild Turkey Hunting in Missouri

Missouri turkey hunting is getting better and better every year, with good numbers of Eastern wild turkeys. This great state has some great spring and fall turkey hunts.

The outfitter handled everything perfectly.

We were thankful that Outdoors International hooked us up with a great outfitter because they were able to find us an acceptable alternate on short notice. Overall the two year process to get this float in was seamless and worry free. Just like it should be.

Second time I’ve done this particular trip.

The steelhead run was awesome! The food was even better than the first time, which is hard to imagine, and our guide is the best there is! If catching big fish is your thing I highly recommend booking through Outdoors International.
