Adventure Travel & Wildlife Viewing: Kenya is a world-renowned destination for wildlife safaris and diverse adventures. The primary draw is observing animals in iconic national parks and reserves like the Masai Mara (famous for the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras, and large predator populations), Amboseli National Park (known for large elephant herds with Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop), Tsavo East and West, Lake Nakuru (flamingos, rhinos), and Samburu. Activities include classic game drives in safari vehicles, hot air ballooning (especially over the Mara), guided walking safaris in specific conservancies, and cultural visits with communities like the Maasai and Samburu. Beyond traditional safaris, adventure options include trekking and climbing Mount Kenya (Africa's second-highest peak), hiking and rock climbing in places like Hell's Gate National Park, exploring the Great Rift Valley's lakes and geological features, and relaxing or enjoying water sports (snorkeling, diving) along the Indian Ocean coast (e.g., Diani Beach).

Fishing: Kenya offers excellent freshwater and saltwater fishing opportunities. Deep-sea fishing charters operate from coastal towns like Malindi, Watamu, and Mombasa, targeting prestigious species such as Marlin (Blue, Black, Striped), Sailfish, Swordfish, Tuna (Yellowfin), Wahoo, Dorado (Mahi-Mahi), and Giant Trevally (GT). Freshwater fishing is popular in Lake Victoria (targeting large Nile Perch and Tilapia), as well as other Rift Valley lakes like Naivasha and Baringo. Introduced Trout (Rainbow and Brown) can be caught in the clear, cold highland streams and rivers, particularly around Mount Kenya and the Aberdares, often requiring fly fishing techniques. Fishing licenses are required for angling in Kenya.

As mentioned, all sport hunting has been illegal in Kenya since 1977. There are no legal opportunities for tourists to hunt. Kenya's wildlife management policy, enforced by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), prioritizes conservation and photographic tourism, which ironically has led to sharp decline in some species, namely elephants. Visitors experience Kenya's incredible birdlife (over 1000 species) and iconic big game through game drives, guided walks, and other non-consumptive tourism activities within its extensive network of national parks, reserves, and conservancies.

I didn't think an experience like this was possible.

This trip, was, for me at least not just a trip, for me it was a real adventure, a real experience. I love the wilderness and this trip afforded me the opportunity to connect with the Alaskan wilderness in ways very few people do. It was an experience I will never forgot in a place I can’t wait to get back to.

The outfitter handled everything perfectly.

We were thankful that Outdoors International hooked us up with a great outfitter because they were able to find us an acceptable alternate on short notice. Overall the two year process to get this float in was seamless and worry free. Just like it should be.

Thank you, Stan Masneri

What an amazing experience!

The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing. Our photo safari guide was truly exceptional and had us on animals almost constantly. We saw over 30 different species and had some incredible up close experiences. Africa is amazing!
