Five Tips for Planning an African Safari
Whether it’s your first trip to Africa, or you’ve been on Safari before, there are a number of things that are very important to ensure you have a great trip.
African Lion
There is a saying in Africa that you are frightened three times during a lion hunt. First, when you find his tracks in the sand; second, when you hear his deafening roar; and third, when you first lay your eyes on him.
African Elephant
The anti-hunting community would like you to believe the elephant is endangered and on the verge of extinction. Facts however paint a very different picture. Elephant hunting is one of the most misunderstood activities in the world.
African Rhino
Both huntable species of rhino live in Africa, the Black Rhinoceros (which are critically endangered) and the White Rhinoceros (registered as vulnerable, with over 9,000 remaining in the wild).
Hippo
Hippo hunting is an adventure! You never know exactly how it’s going to go down. Sometimes you’re paddling in a canoe to close the distance or you might be stalking through the grass hunting a solitary old bull. You might even hunt out of a blind… and usually, you’ll be hunting crocs at the same time.
Roan Antelope
Usually a roan hunt is part of a plains game package, but they can also be combined with a buffalo hunt in Mozambique. It makes sense to do it this way as your day fees are already taken care of.
This hunting concession holds a good number of mature roan bulls measuring up to an amazing 30 inches!
