My dream hunt for as long as I can remember has always been a DIY Alaska moose hunt. After receiving a commitment from my dad that he’d join me in a hunt, we began to seriously look into booking a moose hunt during the fall and early winter of 2016. After much research, both online and through phone conversations, we decided on booking a hunt with this one. We didn’t know it at the time, but our decision turned out to be an excellent one, as we couldn’t have asked for a better trip.
I hardly ever draw tags, but this season, all that changed. I drew a coveted spring black bear tag in Idaho that I’ve been applying for since I was twelve years old!
By the time the hunt was over, we ended up with a bunch of big rattlesnakes and each of us got two javelinas. It was a great trip, and it was nice to get to know Mike better.
2 of the 3 of us went home with nice Ibex but I had 100% opportunity to do the same; the guides did their part. With 24 years experience, the outfitter knows what he is doing.
Lots of game, great food, very nice lodging, all the beer and wine you can drink, rooms cleaned twice a day, free laundry, airport pickup and add on animals to include doves and pigeons is as easy as just asking for more!
Durango Gould’s Turkey Hunt – 4/7-4/11 This was a highly anticipated trip as I really want to get the World Slam of turkeys before I leave this earth. Got my plane reservations and counted the days until Blast Off day. Long trip takes most of a day to get to Durango but it was all worth […]
Argentina Stag – April 5-10 Outfitter Rating Overall, my trip was amazing, I couldn’t have asked for more. A blast of a hunt with great people, outfitter, food and host! My outfitter’s communication before, during and after the trip was good. My guide was amazing. Just wish the guides spoke more english. We were able to […]
Overall, my trip was a great experience. Very well organized and accommodating outfitter.
My goal was to find a booking agent who could handle all these hunts for me. I have found that agent in Mat. I would gladly share a camp with him again.
Not a great hunt…
Steven and his guides are some of the hardest working and hardest hunting guys I have had the pleasure to chase game with.
We were able to set up on these two Osceola and made good shots on both of them. We both had a great time hunting this area.
It was great experience to connect on that bull. Grant did a great job of putting me on elk and calling this one in.
My cousin and I only lacked the Osceola turkey to have our Royal Slam. This has been a 20 year quest. Last year we decided it was time to check that last box.
I don’t know what and when, but one day I will be back to hunt with him again. And if anyone would like to experience this contact Mat Cervantes to book this hunt. Its an experience you don’t want to one day wish you would have done.
Talk about a roller coaster of emotions! Out of all 5-hunters that were with me, I actually had the best opportunities. The first day Matt was with me, and we only saw one bear, and it never gave us an opportunity to shoot.
Was this my last Missouri hunt, God only knows, but I plan to keep in touch with Kyle and Frank. Maybe next fall, I’ll try to leave North Pole earlier in the year and shoot a turkey for my Holiday Table!!
The bear hunting was excellent. We saw double figures in bears each day we were hunting, with several opportunities on stalks each day.
During the hunt we encounter ed mouflon sheep, hogs, turkey and also some Vancouver bulls!
