Hunt Reports and Information
We saw several big brown bears, mountain goats, sea ducks, fox and lots of deer! We threw the crab pot out daily and enjoyed some fresh seafood. On the return trip, we stopped and caught rockfish and halibut, a real bonus to end a great hunt!
Getting dad a mountain goat was the main goal of this hunt on Kodiak Island. I’d be lying to say I didn’t tear up when we got it done.
The outfitter’s staff was excellent. Seth and I kind of roughed it so we didn’t need a lot of their services beyond flying us in, but the pilot was great and provided us with valuable tips before dropping us off for the unguided moose hunt.
The adventure of flying into the remote wilderness of Alaska is something that I want more of after the unguided caribou hunt.
AJ Kissel, with help from his brother, Patrick do a DIY, tradbow muskox hunt on Nunivak Island. Spring muskox hunting is a true Arctic adventure, where you will experience the Inuit culture in the harshest environment on earth…as you will see in this video.
This Alaska moose hunt was everything we wanted and more. It challenged us physically when packing out meat, and it was a complete wilderness experience. we saw black bears, a wolf from the plane and were able to harvest and eat a few tasty grouse. The moose tenderloins cooked over an open fire were delicious and 3 guys can eat two nights on one moose tenderloin, they are massive animals. One of the best wilderness hunts I have ever been on!!
