The Alagnak river in Alaska, a 64 mile long, federally designated Wild and Scenic River that originates in Katmai National Park and Preserve, is a fisherman’s paradise and the most popular fishing float trip in the Bristol Bay region.
From mid-July through the end of August, the Alagnak River has some great wade fishing for silver, chum, pink, and sockeye salmon. The very shallow sandbars on the lower section of the river stack up with thousands upon thousands of salmon.
In September, our anglers target fresh silver salmon on the fly as well as the largest rainbow trout of the season. The trout gorge on salmon eggs and flesh and can weigh-in at over 10 pounds!
