Born in 1991 in South Africa, De Wet has been hunting from a very early age and always aspired to be a Professional Hunter. Since obtaining his professional hunters licence in 2012, he has hunted throughout numerous countries in Southern Africa, gaining invaluable experience and learning from some of the best professional hunters and operators on the continent.
De Wet is currently based in the Limpopo Province of South Africa and for the last seven years has been spending over 200 days a year hunting between South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
De Wet has surrounded himself with some of the most skilled and experienced staff in the industry in order to fulfill his quest: “to offer top quality hunting safaris, combined with personalized service and comfortable accommodation”.
Join us for an evening of Appetizers, Archery and Africa
Ty Cameron and his family have recently bought a new house with a nice shop and have requested to host a cocktail party for De Wet while he is in Idaho. Ty has hunted with De Wet in South Africa with his dad Greg and his brother Colby; based on the experience they had with De Wet they feel honored to be able to host him and show their support; and we all know you’ll feel the same way once you meet him. So come on out join us for appetizers and drinks and meet the man who could be your host for an experience of a lifetime.
We’re going to have an Archery Competition that night as well so bring your bow along (get some practice in…there’s liable to be some pretty stiff competition there!).
The comp is all for fun but there will be some pretty sweet prizes for the top finishers!

Exquisit free range Hunting Lodge in Namibia
This beautiful luxury lodge exhibits modern afro-ethnic style with comfortable lounges and rooms to relax and visit in; after a day of hunting enjoy some time around the fire pit or the outdoor wood fire grill.
The 50,000 acre ranch has barbed wire fencing to keep cattle on the ranch but the fence is no obstacle for the native wild species that travel in and out of the ranch at will. There is also a neighboring high fence concession of 15,000 acres which can make available some non-native species.
The food is South African ‘Boere’ (local) with a touch of European. Expect lots of meat, vegetables, and fruit, all complimented by a variety of South African wines. You will eat a hearty breakfast, usually come back to the lodge for lunch, and then a nice dinner at night. Prior to dinner, you will lounge around the fire pit or in the lounge talking about the day’s hunt and tomorrows plans. You will feel at ease with the staff, who treats you, not as a client but, as a friend.
The PH definitely exceeded any expectations we had for our 1st safari, they were with us every step of the way from picking us up at the airport until it was time to drop us off. Me and the boys could not believe how many animals there were and really enjoyed the diversity of game. Heidi had a great time with her guide Ansa, she was very helpful and they did many exciting things throughout the week. they really worked hard to make sure we were having a good time.
It’s not just the doing of a thing, but how one does a thing that at the dusk of memory takes one back to the sharp moment of action and then a whiskey and a fire shared with a trusted PH … that is the true and the beautiful essence of “Safari,” at least for me.
I trust Outdoors International’s opinion and will definitely book another hunt with Outdoors International. This was an amazing safari!
