Balkan Chamois

Chamois Hunting Croatia

One of the best wild, native spot-and-stalk, mountain hunts in the world!

The Balkan Chamois is larger than the alpine subspecies and inhabits altitudes ranging from sea level up to to 4,500 feet. Chamois hunting primarily involves vigilant glassing and then a careful stalk. The geographical location of our hunting grounds not only provides hunters with exceptional hunting opportunities but also allows them to relish the breathtaking vistas of the Adriatic Sea and its picturesque islands.

In Croatia, the largest concentrations of chamois can be found on the majestic mountain ranges along the Adriatic coast. Chamois possess highly developed senses, characterized by exceptional vision, acute hearing, and a keen sense of smell, which further adds to the allure of this hunting experience. Typically, shots are discharged at distances ranging from 200 to 350 yards.

You can combo this hunt with mouflon sheep, which is a VERY affordable, real sheep hunt. Mouflons on this hunt are even more affordable than a good free range aoudad hunt in Texas.

This was a challenging free range hunt and not a canned fence hunt. Very exciting. I landed in Zagreb and the outfitter was waiting for me at the airport. We then traveled to the bed and breakfast near Sinje where we would stay while we hunted mouflon sheep and Balkan chamois.

Our hunt was excellent.

We saw bucks every day along with all other sorts of wildlife. Mountain goats, bears, and foxes were common sights. Fishing and crabbing was special bonus. The food was excellent, the crew was amazing. Outdoors International did a great job of finding exactly what we were looking for.

What an amazing experience!

The hunting lodge was out of this world!, Rooms, food and the scenery were all A+. Our guide was exceptional and had us on Shiras moose all five days. We saw over 30 total with at least 10 bulls. They had a plan for everything including taxidermy and game processing.
