Alaska Cast and Blast
Hunt Birds in the Morning, Fish in the Afternoon
This fishing lodge is that rare find in the fishing world. Fishing here on the Goodnews River is like fishing was before the crowds discovered your favorite secret fishing hole. It is the ONLY full service lodge located on the Goodnews River, in southwest Alaska.
During the first week of September only, we are offering a cast and blast option for bird hunters who would like to pick up a fishing rod and catch some salmon. Hunt ducks and/or ptarmigan in the mornings and evenings, then fish the river for silvers and big rainbow trout. This trip is EXTREMELY LIMITED, so lock in your spot fast.
*This Alaska Cast and Blast trip is only available during the first week of September.
I have to say this was the best upland bird hunting I have ever experienced. Bud is an honest hardworking outfitter and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you Outdoors International.
We hunted birds for three days and since most of the corn was already cut, there were pheasants everywhere! It was the perfect South Dakota pheasant hunt. We had some corn strips near the farmhouse that had hundreds of birds in them. With ten people pheasant hunting, our limit was thirty birds a day, and everybody shot well so it was a blast! Another highlight of the trip was the food. One night, my dad made Dutch Oven pheasant and crab dinner for us… That was some good stuff.
